Vision Australia

Vision Australia is the key service provider for Blind and Low Vision members of the community. Our aim is to assist people to be as independent as possible so they can continue to lead active and full lives despite having difficulties with their vision.


We offer a range of services that endeavour to assist people to maintain their Independence and Self-Esteem. These services include, Occupational Therapy to assist with activities of daily living such as being able to use kitchen appliances, pour drinks, identifying money and many other everyday tasks. We have Orientation and Mobility Specialists who help people maintain safety and confidence in getting around in the community. We have Low Vision Clinics that assess people’s needs for aids, that assist reading and maximising the use of what vision they have, such as using magnifiers, lighting and other reading aids such as glasses.


We can offer advice and practical options for social and recreational needs, and we run two Day Programs which assist in maintaining social and peer support.


In the Eastern Region, we are based in Boronia. Referrals for our services come from many different sources- Eye Specialists, Optometrists, Council Workers, Family , Friends and Individuals- anyone can refer for our assistance.
